Any individual who has acquired Madagascan nationality by decree may forfeit his/her Malagasy nationality:

If convicted of a crime or offence against the internal or external security of State;

If convicted of a crime or offence punishable under Articles 109 to 131 of the Criminal Code, or of slander or affront against the Constitution or the institutions of the Republic;
-
If convicted of having shirked his obligations under the law on army or military service recruitment;
-
If he/she has committed any acts that are incompatible with his status as a Malagasy national or detrimental to the interests of Madagascar;
-
If convicted in Madagascar or abroad of any crime leading to a penalty of at least five years of incarceration.
