General information
  • Validity: Malagasy passports are valid for 10 years

  • Renewal: Expired passports cannot be extended and must be replaced by a new document

  • Children: Children may be included on a passport being issued for one or both of the parents. Including children can however be difficult once the parents’ passport has been issued because it requires the document to be returned to the Ministry of the Interior in Madagascar and a new application procedure to be initiated. Children may now hold their own individual passports, whatever their age.

Documents to be presented

  • Three duly completed forms (here);

  • Photocopy of the old passport;

  • Photocopy of the national identity card or copy of a birth certificate issued at least three months previously;

  • Certificate of nationality;

  • 6 ID photos;

  • Fee: 27 Euro
